A mountain road linking Shirabu Onsen in Yonezawa, Yamagata, and the north shore of Lake Hibara in Fukushima. Hairpin curves continue, and south of Shirabu Pass the curves are called the Higashi-hachiyama Nanamagari. From the observatory at Shirabu Pass you can see Lake Hibara and Mount Bandai, and depending on the weather the Iide and Asahi ranges in the distance. No toll; closed in winter from early November to mid-April.
