About this place
The National Fireworks Competition is a fireworks display held on the last Saturday of August each year at the Omono River Riverbed Sports Park in Daisen, Akita Prefecture. Because Daisen used to be the city of Omagari, it is generally known as the "Omagari Fireworks." It is regarded as one of the "Three Great Fireworks Festivals of Japan" and one of the "Three Great Fireworks Competitions of Japan."
