About this place
The Yokote City Masuda Manga Museum is a museum in Masudamachi, Yokote, Akita Prefecture. To commemorate the achievements of the manga artist Yaguchi Takao, a native of Masuda, it opened in October 1995 (Heisei 7) as the first museum in Japan themed on 'original manga artwork'. It puts effort into preserving original manga artwork, holding and permanently preserving 450,000 pieces of original manga artwork by about 180 manga artists from Japan and abroad.
