About this place
Fukui City Art Museum is an art museum in Fukui, Fukui Prefecture. Opened in 1997 (Heisei 9), it collects and exhibits works by the sculptor Takata Hiroatsu, who has local connections. The building was designed by Kurokawa Kisho. Permanent exhibition room (sculptures by Takata Hiroatsu and others) Since January 2021, the permanent exhibition room has also displayed a huge stained glass window and a Venus statue after Canova (117 cm high, replica) from Ocho Kissa Kanzan (closed August 2020), which stood at the west exit of Fukui Station. Opening hours: 9:00-17:15
