About this place
Yokokan Garden is a Japanese garden (daimyo garden) in Hoei 3-chome, Fukui, Fukui Prefecture. It is designated a Place of Scenic Beauty of Japan. Yokokan Garden is in the center of Fukui, about 400 meters north of the main enclosure of Fukui Castle. In 1922 (Taisho 11), Hoei Elementary School was built on the site. The building was destroyed by fire in the Fukui air raid of July 19, 1945 (Showa 20).
