About this place
The Tsuchiura City Museum (Tsuchiura City Museum) is a public museum in Chuo 1-chome, Tsuchiura, Ibaraki Prefecture. It exhibits the history and culture of Tsuchiura and holds swords once owned by the Tsuchiya family, lords of the Tsuchiura domain, including National Treasures and Important Cultural Properties. It opened in 1988 as the first large-scale museum in the southern part of the prefecture, and its exhibits were substantially renewed in 2007.
