About this place
Manazuru Town Nakagawa Kazumasa Museum of Art is a public art museum in Manazuru, Ashigarashimo District, Kanagawa Prefecture. It is designated one of the 100 Selected Public Buildings. Paintings and calligraphy by Nakagawa Kazumasa, who lived in Manazuru and was called a modern literati painter, are exhibited surrounded by the trees of the Manazuru Peninsula Nature Park. The building itself is simple in design, for example using the local Hon-Komatsu stone for the lobby floor. It stands in a corner overlooking the sea of the Manazuru Peninsula, which is also a nature park, with primeval forest close by, and is good for nature walks.
