About this place
Matsumoto City Museum of Art is an art museum in Chuo, Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture. It opened in April 2002. In addition to permanent exhibition rooms centered on artists connected with Shinshu, such as Kusama Yayoi, Kamijo Shinzan, Ikegami Hyakuchikutei, Tamura Kazuo and Hosokawa Soei, it holds special exhibitions. Kusama Yayoi's large work "Visionary Flowers" is displayed outdoors beside the entrance.
