Overview
Visitors drink from the collection's own bowls - a museum that hands over its objects rather than glazing them in.
About this place
Kimura Tea Ceremony Museum is a museum of tea utensils in Kashiwazaki, Niigata Prefecture. It opened in November 1984 to exhibit a collection of items for the tea ceremony. It holds no National Treasures or Important Cultural Properties, but following the collector's belief that "utensils are only utensils when used, and if not used they die," visitors can actually handle the tea utensils, which are normally only viewed through glass, and drink tea.
