The Ohashi family were landowners who made a fortune developing rice fields and salt fields, and formed an emerging power called "Shinroku." The surviving building was built from 1796 (7th year of Kansei) to 1799 (10th year of Kansei). It has architectural styles unique to Kurashiki, such as white walls with attached tiles and Kurashiki lattices. Now the rice storehouse with namako walls is an exhibition room where visitors can see daily utensils of the time.
