About this place
Osaka Japan Folk Crafts Museum is a museum centered on folk crafts in Expo Commemoration Park in Suita, Osaka Prefecture. For the Japan World Exposition held from March to September 1970, after 17 Kansai companies set up the Expo Japan Folk Crafts Pavilion Exhibitors' Council at the call of Ohara Soichiro and others, in September 1967 the Japan Folk Crafts Association decided to establish it as a pavilion (Japan Folk Crafts Pavilion) introducing the "beauty of folk crafts" under the theme "beauty in daily life"; construction began in December 1968, and on March 6 of the Expo year, ahead of the opening, Obayashi
