About this place
The Shiga Prefectural Azuchi Castle Archaeological Museum is a registered museum at Shimotoyoura, Azuchi-cho, Omihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, whose main themes are castles and archaeology. It opened in 1992. It was established in Bungei no Sato, the centre of the historical park "Omi Fudoki no Oka," as a base facility for the research, preservation and promotion of its component elements: four national historic sites, namely the Special Historic Site Azuchi Castle Ruins, the Kannonji Castle Ruins, Hyotanyama Kofun and the Dainaka no Ko Minami Site, as well as a group of cultural property buildings.
