About this place
Hikone Castle Museum is a Hikone City history museum in Konkicho, Hikone, Shiga Prefecture. It is a facility that uses part of the restored building of the Omote Goten (front palace) of Hikone Castle as exhibition space. It is a facility in which the Omote Goten of Hikone Castle was restored above while preserving the underground remains. It holds about 90,000 items in all, centered on about 45,000 art crafts and old documents handed down in the Ii family, together with materials related to Hikone.
