About this place
Toyosato Town Toyosato Elementary School is a public elementary school in Ishibata, Toyosato, Inukami District, Shiga Prefecture. It is known nationwide because of the old school buildings, recognized as historic buildings, the preservation activities surrounding them, and the fact that the old school buildings served as the setting of an anime. The school's history goes back to 1873 (Meiji 6), when a union of seven villages including Shijuinmura established three elementary schools: Seibun School, Tatsumu School and Senshin School.
