About this place
Oyama City Kurumaya Museum of Art is a municipal art museum in Otome 3-chome, Oyama, Tochigi Prefecture. The rice storehouse of the Ogawa family residence, registered as a National Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2007 (Heisei 19), was renovated into a full-fledged art exhibition room, and the main house and garden are also open to the public; the museum opened in April 2009 (Heisei 21). The Ogawa family once ran a fertilizer wholesale business using river boat transport on the Omoi River, and around the end of the Meiji era moved to the present site, which has good railway access.
