About this place
The Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art is a ceramic art museum in Mashiko, Haga District, Tochigi Prefecture. It is the central museum of "Togei Messe Mashiko," a multipurpose town facility that also deals with Mashiko ware and ceramics related to Mashiko, as well as mingei (folk crafts). It opened on 26 June 1993 as "Togei Messe Mashiko Togeikan," and in 2003, when Togei Messe Mashiko was registered as a museum, it was renamed the "Mashiko Museum of Ceramic Art."
