Five hundred stalls twice a year, the model on which Japan's other pottery fairs were built.
About this place
The Mashiko Pottery Fair is a pottery fair, an event selling pottery, held in Mashiko, Haga District, Tochigi Prefecture, the home of "Mashiko ware." It is held twice a year, in spring and autumn: for about nine days from late April to early May around the spring Golden Week holidays, and for about four days in early November around 3 November, Culture Day, in the autumn excursion season. The spring fair is sometimes called the "Mashiko Spring Pottery Fair," and the autumn one the "Mashiko Autumn Pottery Fair."
