About this place
The Awa Washi Traditional Industry Hall is a museum on Awa washi in Yamakawacho, Yoshinogawa, Tokushima Prefecture. May 1989 (Heisei 1) - Opened in the former Yamakawa Town, Oe District, which carries on the tradition of Awa washi. It is used mainly as a place where papermaking craftsmen work. A hands-on practice venue where visitors can make handmade washi. Using indigo, a Tokushima specialty, indigo dyeing can also be tried. First and second exhibition rooms open to the public as galleries, and a multipurpose hall where books on washi can be read.
