About this place
Zuisenji, the Inami Betsuin of the Shinshu Otani-ha, is a temple of the Shinshu Otani-ha in Inami, Nanto, Toyama Prefecture. It is a branch temple of that school, and regards the Shinshu Honbyo (Higashi Honganji) as its head temple. It is abbreviated as Inami Betsuin or Zuisenji. Its mountain name is "Sugidani-san (Sangokusan)." In the Sengoku period it was a stronghold of the Ikko-ikki uprising in Etchu, and the temple compound is surrounded by sturdy stone walls. The carvings on the temple buildings are all decorated by Inami carving craftsmen of Inami, Nanto, where the woodcarving industry flourishes.
