About this place
The Minakata Kumagusu Archives (Minakata Kumagusu Archives) is a museum-like facility in Nakayashiki-cho, Tanabe, Wakayama Prefecture. After Minakata Kumagusu's death, his residence, books, documents, letters and specimens were preserved by his family. In 2000 his eldest daughter Fumie, the last remaining, died, and in accordance with her wishes they were donated to Tanabe.
