About this place
Dewazakura Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. is a sake brewery in Yamagata Prefecture that produces refined sake. It was founded in 1892 as Nakano Shuzo, when the first Nakano Seijiro set up a branch family. During the Pacific War, a time of shortages when any sake brewed would sell, the second Nakano Seijiro reduced shipments and insisted on maintaining quality. The state also pushed breweries in various regions to merge so that it could reliably collect liquor tax, and the tax office urged Nakano Shuzo to merge as well.
