About this place
The Yamadera Goto Museum of Art was a museum in Yamagata, Yamagata Prefecture. It was a museum centred on the collection of European paintings (especially French) gathered over many years by the businessman Goto Sueijiro, a native of Kahoku, Yamagata Prefecture. It was built in the Yamadera district and opened in 1994. It closed from May 1, 2021, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, and closed on October 31 of the same year without reopening. 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. (admission until 5 p.m.)
