About this place
The Tsuruoka Art Forum is an art and cultural facility in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture. Tsuruoka, home of the art group "Hakuyosha" led by Teisuke Jinushi, Shigesaburo Imai and others, has long had thriving art and cultural activities, but because it had no art museum or full-scale exhibition facility, community centres were used as venues to show works. However, large works could not be shown in community centres, and large-scale works had to be presented in nearby gymnasiums, so the establishment of an arts and cultural facility came to be desired.
