About this place
Kodama Jozo Co., Ltd. is a brewing maker with its head office in Iizuka, Iidagawa, Katagami, Akita Prefecture. It is the largest miso maker in Akita Prefecture. Its sake Taiheizan and its miso Yamakyu Ganso Akita Miso are especially well known. In 2009 its sake won gold at the Monde Selection for the tenth year in a row, and trophies and gold medals at the IWC, and across sake, miso and soy sauce it has won many awards at competitions in Japan and abroad. In 1985 (Showa 60) Yamakyu Miso became the first processed food to win the Emperor's Cup.
