Kokuryu Sake Brewery in Eiheiji. It brews with underground water from the Kuzuryu River.
About this place
Kokuryu Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a sake brewery with its head office and factory in Eiheiji, Yoshida District, Fukui Prefecture. Since its first brewery head, Ishidaya Nizaemon, in 1804 (Bunka 1), Kokuryu has pursued handmade sake. Because of the excellent water quality of the area and encouragement from the Matsuoka domain, there were 17 breweries at its peak, but now only Kokuryu Shuzo and one other brewery remain.
