About this place
Iwamura Jozo Co., Ltd. is a sake maker with its head office at 342 Iwamura-cho, Ena, Gifu Prefecture. It is said to have been founded in 1787 (Tenmei 7) and was incorporated in 1921 (Taisho 10). Before the war it ran a broad brewing business covering miso, soy sauce, mirin and shochu as well as sake, but since the war it has focused almost entirely on sake. It won gold medals at the National New Sake Appraisal in both 2009 (Heisei 21) and 2010 (Heisei 22), two years in a row.
