About this place
Satsuma tin ware is a traditional tin craft made in Kagoshima Prefecture. It was designated a traditional craft of Kagoshima Prefecture on 24 March 1997 (Heisei 9). It has a soft touch and a feeling of weight. Its appearance has a luxurious look and a lustrous, soft near-white silver beauty, with a richly flavored pear-skin (nashiji) surface, and a distinctive character develops the more it is used. Because tin is a soft metal, it is easy to work and hard to crack.
