About this place
Kamemansyuzo Goshi Kaisha is a Japanese sake-brewing company in Tsunagi, Ashikita District, Kumamoto Prefecture. It is the southernmost brewery in Japan using natural brewing. It was founded in 1916 (Taisho 5). It lies near the border of Kumamoto and Kagoshima Prefectures, where the climate is barely suitable for natural brewing, and it brews by its own method called Nantan Koori Shikomi (southernmost ice brewing), which regulates the temperature of the moromi mash with large amounts of ice.
