Sasaki Sake Brewery in Rakuchu, Kyoto. One of the few sake breweries remaining in the city.
About this place
Sasaki Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a sake maker and, among the breweries located in Kyoto, the only one that still exists within the area especially called Rakuchu (inner Kyoto). It is also the family home of the actor Sasaki Kuranosuke. Founded by Sasaki Jirokichi in 1893 (Meiji 26). 1893 - The first Sasaki Jirokichi founded it at Higurashi-dori Sawaragicho-sagaru, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto, and began making and selling sake. The representative brand at founding was "Jurakugiku."
