Overview
Hakurei Sake Brewery in Miyazu. It brews in Tango.
About this place
Hakurei Shuzo is a sake brewery in Miyazu, Kyoto Prefecture, that makes and sells sake. Its beginning is said to be in 1832 (Tenpo 3), when the founder, a Kitamaebune shipowner, obtained a brewing license from the domain lord and began brewing. Its brewing water is Fudo Sansui, which wells up from the middle of Mount Yuragatake and is ultra-soft water with lower hardness than Kyoto Fushimi. In October 2018, owing to difficulty finding a successor, it came under the umbrella of the Saga beverage maker Tomomasu Holdings.
