About this place
Naniwa Rubber Co., Ltd. (Naniwa Rubber Co., Ltd.) is a company with its head office in Yamatotakada, Nara Prefecture, that mainly makes and sells medical rubber and plastic products. It is a subsidiary of Nitta. At its founding it handled the packing parts of canned goods, but prompted by an accident in which the founder cut off a finger, in 1908 it made the first rubber water pillow in Japan. It is said to have then sold greatly as a necessity during the Spanish flu (around 1918).
