About this place
Hokusetsu Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a Japanese sake-brewing company in the Akadomari area of Sado, Niigata Prefecture. It makes and sells sake, shochu and liqueurs such as plum wine. It has an exclusive contract to supply sake to NOBU, a restaurant chain of about 30 locations around the world run by Matsuhisa Nobuyuki (described in detail under the NOBU partnership). It makes products using rice, water, plums and other ingredients native to Sado. About 30% of sales are on Sado Island and about 70% are off the island.
