About this place
Watanabe Sahei Shoten is a Japanese sake-brewing company in Imaichi, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture. It was founded in 1842 (Tenpo 13) and incorporated as a joint-stock company in 1951 (Showa 26). It is a long-established brewing company even by Tochigi standards, and in 1891 (Meiji 24) its brewing volume was the largest in the prefecture. Besides sake, it makes sake lees, junmai shochu and cider. About 90% of its total output is junmai sake. Brewery tours are also available.
