Tsumugi from Musashimurayama. Kasuri is created by itajime, in which thread is clamped between boards and dyed, and patterns resembling Oshima tsumugi are woven.
About this place
Murayama Oshima Tsumugi is a pongee traditionally produced around Musashimurayama, Tokyo. It is a silk fabric in which silk thread spun from double cocoons is dyed by board-clamp resist dyeing and patterned by kasuri weaving, and it is also the brand name of kimono made from it.
