About this place
The Hotaruika Museum (English name: HOTARUIKA MUSEUM) is a museum run by Namerikawa City, located in Nakagawara, Namerikawa, Toyama Prefecture. It opened on 27 March 1998 (Heisei 10). It is managed and operated by Wave Namerikawa Co., Ltd. (established 20 January 1997) under the designated manager system. It is a member of the Toyama Prefecture Museum Association. Firefly squid fishing is a thriving industry in Toyama Prefecture, so the museum takes the firefly squid as its theme.
