About this place
Kishu Hera Rods are bamboo craft products made in Hashimoto, centered on the area that was formerly part of Ito District, Wakayama Prefecture (Kishu), Japan, and also in Kudoyama, Ito District, and are rods for hera-buna (carp-like fish) fishing (Japanese rods dedicated to hera-buna fishing, hera rods). Known as a regional brand of Wakayama Prefecture, the production area centered on Hashimoto is called "Kishu Hera Rod no Sato" and similar names. In 2013 (Heisei 25), it was designated a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
