About this place
Sekai Itto Co., Ltd. (SEKAI ITTO CO.,LTD C.) is a sake brewing company with its head office in Wakayama, Wakayama Prefecture. The head office building is built on the site of the historic Kishu Domain school "Gakushukan." The company name comes from its main brand "Sekai Itto." This sake name was given in the time of the second head, Minakata Tsunekusu. Tsunekusu was a graduate of Waseda University and, because he had studied under the Meiji elder statesman Marquis Okuma Shigenobu, asked Okuma to choose the sake's name when Okuma made a pilgrimage to Mount Koya in Kishu.
