About this place
Dewazakura Shuzo Co., Ltd. is a sake brewery in Yamagata Prefecture that makes seishu (refined sake). In 1892 the first Nakano Seijiro branched off from his family and founded it as Nakano Shuzo. During the Pacific War, when goods were scarce and any sake made would sell, the second Nakano Seijiro cut back shipments and insisted on maintaining quality. Also, so that it could collect liquor tax reliably, the government pushed breweries in each region to merge, and the tax office urged Nakano Shuzo to merge as well.
