About this place
Taiheizan Miyoshi Shrine is a shrine in Akita, Akita. It is an object of mountain worship. The village shrine is at the foot of Mount Taihei and the inner shrine is on the summit. Onamuchi no Okami Sukunabikona no Okami The shrine's tradition says that Miyoshi Reijin is the deified Fujiwara no Miyoshi (Tsurujumaru), lord of Taihei Castle, but he is basically a deity of mountain worship. He presides over strength, contests, and the dispelling of evil and upholding of righteousness. According to the shrine's tradition, it was founded by En no Ozunu in the second year of Hakuho (673).
