About this place
Asuwa Shrine is a shrine in Asuwa, Fukui, Fukui. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine and a former prefectural shrine. It enshrines Emperor Keitai, "Ikui no Kami", "Fukui no Kami", "Tsunanagai no Kami", "Asuha no Kami" and "Hahiki no Kami". Their divine virtues are as follows. Emperor Keitai - The founding ancestor of Echizen. Through his name he is a deity of continued prosperity, and because he had many children, a deity of conceiving children, safe childbirth and the prosperity of descendants. Omiyatokoro no Mitama - (alternative name) Imasu no Kami. The collective name of the following five deities. Ikui no Kami, Fukui no Kami and Tsunanagai no Kami are all deities of wells and water.
