About this place
Fukushima Hachimangu is a shrine at 105-1 Honmachi, Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture. The enshrined deities are Emperor Ojin, Empress Jingu and Takeuchi no Sukune. It is worshipped as the tutelary shrine of the Yame Fukushima district. Fukushima Hachimangu is a shrine in the Fukushima district of Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture, on high ground at the site of Fukushima Castle. Yame Fukushima took shape as a castle town in the Edo period and later developed as a commercial city, and the shrine, as the tutelary shrine of this town, has been the centre of local faith.
