About this place
Sakatsura Isosaki Shrine is a shrine in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine (Myojin Taisha). Its former shrine rank was Kokuhei Chusha, and it is now a Beppyo Shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. It stands on a hill on a cape facing the Pacific Ocean in eastern Ibaraki. It is said to be closely related to Oarai Isosaki Shrine in Oarai, across the Naka River, and the two shrines form a single faith. Sukunahikona no Mikoto He is said to have worked on nation-building together with Onamochi no Mikoto. Onamochi no Mikoto Another name of Okuninushi no Mikoto (Onamuchi no Mikoto).
