About this place
Otowa no Taki refers to a waterfall said to have been located in the Rakugai (outskirts of the capital) area of Yamashiro Province. In historical sources it is sometimes written 'Otowa no Taki' in all cases, and some confusion is seen. The Yoshu Fushi gives the following three places. Otowa no Taki (Kiyomizudera) - identified as the Otowa Falls at Kiyomizudera on the western slope of Mount Kiyomizu, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto. Otowa no Taki (Mount Otowa) - identified as the Otowa Falls on the Yamashina Otowa River flowing on the western slope of Mount Otowa, Yamashina Ward, Kyoto.
