Its object of worship is the ground itself, beneath the floor of the main hall. Many written prayers by Takeda Shingen survive here.
About this place
Ikushima Tarushima Shrine is a shrine in Shimonogo, Ueda, Nagano. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine (Myojin Taisha). Its former shrine rank was Kokuhei Chusha, and it is now a Beppyo Shrine of the Association of Shinto Shrines. Its principal deities are the following two. Ikushima no Okami Tarushima no Okami Ikushima no Okami is the deity who gives birth to and nurtures all things and grants life force, and Tarushima no Okami is the deity who makes the whole country full and sufficient.
