About this place
Shikitsu Matsunomiya is a shrine in Shikitsunishi, Naniwa Ward, Osaka. Its auxiliary shrine, Hinode Daikoku Shrine, is also called Okuninushi Shrine, and this shrine is the better known of the two. Locals affectionately call it 'Kizu no Daikoku-san'. It is the origin of the name of the nearby district (Daikoku, Naniwa Ward) and the station (Daikokucho Station). Okuninushi Shrine enshrines Okuninushi no Mikoto (Daikokuten) of the Osaka Seven Lucky Gods. It is sometimes written together as 'Shikitsu Matsunomiya and Okuninushi Shrine', but its registered name as a religious corporation is Shikitsu Matsunomiya.
