About this place
Myokensan (Myokensan, Myokenzan) is a mountain straddling Hyogo and Osaka prefectures. It belongs to the Hokusetsu mountain range. The mountain body is an object of worship, and near the summit stands the Nose Myoken Hall, an important Nichiren sect temple in the Kansai region. The formal name of the Nose Myoken Hall is Murozan Shinnyoji Keigai Butsudo (an outlying Buddhist hall) Nose Myokensan, and it is a detached precinct of Shinnyoji in Jio, Nosecho, but it draws far more worshippers than the head temple, Shinnyoji. A fourth-class triangulation point is set on the summit.
