About this place
Suisenji is a Soto-sect temple in Minano, Chichibu District, Saitama, with the mountain name Nissakusan. The principal image is Senju Kanzeon Bosatsu. It is the temple where both the Chichibu 34 Kannon Pilgrimage and the Japan 100 Kannon Pilgrimage reach their 'completion'. Near the Kannon Hall is a rock cave called Mizukuguri no Iwaya, from which spring water called 'Choumeisui' (water of longevity) wells up. Principal image mantra: On bazara tarama kiriku Goeika (pilgrim's hymn): Here I lay down the wishes of ten thousand generations; water that wells up from beneath the moss.
