Overview
It has no torii, and rabbits sit where guardian lions usually would. The reading tsuki also gave rise to a belief in luck in contests.
About this place
Tsuki Shrine is a shrine in Kishicho 3-chome, Urawa Ward, Saitama, Saitama. It is an Engishiki-listed shrine and its former shrine rank was prefectural shrine. Its alternative name is "Tsuki no Miya". Because of the "Tsuki" in its name, moon-waiting worship has long existed here, and it is known as a shrine with rabbit statues instead of komainu. Its deities are the following three. Amaterasu Omikami Toyoukehime no Mikoto Among the legends about the deities is one of the seven wonders long handed down at Tsuki Shrine (described below): "there are no pine trees".
