About this place
Hisaizu Shrine and Hisaizusha (Hisaizusha, also read Kuizusha) are shrines that have 'Hisaizu' in their names and enshrine Onamuchi no Mikoto (Okuninushi). Tamashiki Shrine in Kazo, Saitama, was formerly called 'Hisaizu Myojin' and is regarded as the head shrine. They are distributed mainly along the Motoarakawa River basin in Saitama, and roughly coincide with the sphere of influence of the Noyo and Kisai bands of the Musashi Shichito, the warrior bands of the late Heian period.
