About this place
Hikawa Nyotai Shrine is a shrine in Midori Ward, Saitama, Saitama. Its registered religious corporation name is Hikawa Nyotai Shrine in the old character form. It claims to be the ichinomiya of Musashi Province. It is a member of the National Ichinomiya Association. Its former shrine rank was village-district shrine (gosha). Kushinadahime no Mikoto - the wife of Susanoo no Mikoto. Hikawa Shrine in Omiya (Omiya Ward, Saitama), whose principal deity is Susanoo no Mikoto, is the "male-body shrine" (Nantai-sha), and this shrine is the corresponding "female-body shrine" (Nyotai-sha). According to the shrine's tradition, it was founded in the reign of Emperor Sujin by transferring a spirit from Izumo Taisha.
